GOLCO 2017/2018 REGULAR SEASON

The 2017/2018 GOLCO season started on November 5, 2017

With two atractive matches and the debut of a new team, GOLCO launched the regular 2017/2018 season. The league also introduced the new FIFA system B “temporary dismissal” regulation that was included in the 2017 FIFA Laws of the Game.

The first match was between LSC Academy team and Elite SA International. LSC had a great game and defeated Elite by a score of 5 - 0. The MVP of the match was Andres Watson, LSC goalie, who not only prevented any goals to be scored, but also stopped a PK by the opponents.

The second match featured the new comers Himmarshee FC, a team with the best fans in the history of the GOLCO. They played Boca Raton FC in a close, even match. Boca won the match by a score of 1-0 with a goal scored by Luke Ferreira.

The new rule for system B temporary dismissal (“sin bin” ) indicates that any player receiving a caution for simulating an injury, denying a goal scoring opportunity and/or persistent dissent to referee decisions, will be sent temporarily off the pitch (and the team play short of one player) for 10 minutes. The new rule was already applied successfully during the first match of the GOLCO season.
