NO SOCCER ACTIVITIES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
This is the official Florida State Soccer Association
message
Dear
USASA Members and Players,
With
the proliferation of COVID-19, USASA is hereby initiating an immediate
suspension of all soccer activities until March 31 when we'll
reassess the situation. This includes all regional cup games, all
affiliated league and tournament play and team practices, and in-person
gatherings and/or administrative meetings.
USASA
is committed to the health and well-being of its players, coaches,
staff, and families. We'll continue to actively monitor the situation
and, as always, we encourage players and families to practice
repeated and proper CDC hygiene procedures on and off the field,
including:
- Avoid close contact
with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your
eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Don't shake hands
during or after a game.
- Stay home when you are
sick.
- Cover your cough or
sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect
frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household
cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wash your hands often
with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after
going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose,
coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are
not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with
at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if
hands are visibly dirty.

This
is the Florida Youth Soccer Association decision
As I am sure many of you already expected, FYSA has
recommended that all of their affiliated Leagues, Clubs, and Tournaments
suspend their respective activities until April 12th, 2020. FYSA will
be re-examining the situation in 15 days at which time they will either
decide to resume activities on the 12th or extend the suspension.
SFUYSA will, of course, follow the FYSA recommended guidelines and
therefore, all currently scheduled games between now and April 12th are
suspended. We will move those games in the system to an arbitrary
date of May 1 so that should there be a reinstatement, club representatives
will be able to work with each other to make game change
modifications.
The Spring Season which is yet to be scheduled was set to
begin in early April. Those schedules will be created to start after
the 12th. ALL those games, as well as ALL other 2019-2020 SFUYSA unplayed
remaining games, will be considered OPTIONAL as far as completion. No
fines for failing to play will be issued after games are reinstated unless
there is an agreement to play and one team does not show.
Ultimately, the safety and security of our entire soccer
community are more important than a few lost games here or there. We
all hope that our best and brightest are able to assess and prepare plans
to help reinstate a sense of normalcy soon.
Sincerely,
On behalf of the entire SFUYSA Organization,
Jeff Kurzner
VP Competition
SENT BY (Jeff Kurzner)
As you see, finally all major soccer organizations followed
our decision to postponed all activities until it is safe to resume competition. NO SOCCER
GAMES AT LEAST FOR A MONTH. Hopefully then we will be able to be back on track !!!
In the meantime enjoy some classic popular italian music (the eternal Rita Pavone 50 years ago) and pray for our European friends to recover soon
